Prior to founding the Comito Organization, LLC, Owner Joel Comito spent nearly nineteen years working for a national mortgage company where he completed in-depth analytic reviews for customers while being a liaison and relationship manager for internal legal teams, auditors, and leadership groups. In real estate his focus was on title, mapping, boundary, parcel split, loan document, taxes, escrow, and insurance resolution.
Throughout his career, Joel has also earned numerous awards. These included two Customer Satisfaction Awards, two Service Excellence awards, three Team Member of the Month awards, three Team Excellence awards, forty-one Best Shots, twenty-seven Star Awards, ninety-six Outstanding Achievement awards, a Breakaway Performance award, a Listen to Customer award, an Own the Process award, a Manage Risk award, and a Foundation of Success award during his tenure, all of which ultimately led to Service Stars Conference invitations on two separate occasions.
In addition to his work in the real estate, legal research, and data analytics world, Joel has been an active member of the Iowa community since graduating from Drake University in 2002. There he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law, Politics, and Society with an emphasis in pre-law, a minor in history, and a minor in political science. As an undergraduate, Joel also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education focusing on secondary education and coaching. He later earned a Master of Public Administration Degree from Drake University in the fall of 2011.
As a student at Drake University, Joel ran cross country, indoor track and field, and outdoor track and field from 1998 to 2002. Following his college career he joined the Saint Louis Track Club until early 2005 when he retired from the sport. Joel has been a big supporter of Drake University and USATF ever since and can often be seen regularly attending Drake sporting events and USATF competitions.
For the past two decades Joel has also been an assistant women’s soccer coach at Grand View University. As a Viking he has helped his team win three conference regular season titles, win two conference tournament titles, and be a regular postseason contender. His team has been in the national rankings during seven of those seasons, has earned eleven conference top three finishes, and has advanced to nine conference championship games.
